Captain’s Cup
CAPTAIN’S CUP
COMPETITION DATES: From May – September
FORMAT: Match play, two-man team, Net best ball.
ELIGIBILITY: All adult and Student Male Members. No limit on handicaps.
ENTRY: $10 per person with a 70/30 payout for 1st and 2nd
DRAW: Random.
RULES: Golf Canada and local rules.
TEE MARKERS: Markers that you normally use.
SCORING: Match play, Net best ball.
The player with the lowest handicap of the foursome (ex: 7) will play from the tees he
usually plays from as if he was a 0 handicap. If competitors are playing from different tees,
then their handicaps need to be adjusted to reflect differences in course ratings. This is
done by adding strokes to the handicap of the player playing the course with the higher
course rating. The adjustment is equal to the difference in the course ratings, rounded to
the nearest integer.
EXAMPLE:
For a match between two competitors playing the East-South course from the Blue and Green tees.
Course ratings: Rockland East-South Blue 70.1; Rockland East-South Green 68.7.
The handicap for the player playing from the blue markers is adjusted up by adding 1 stroke (70.1-68.7=1.4 or 1 rounded) to his course handicap.
TIES: Players will agree on the playoff format before the match begins i.e., sudden death, three or more extra holes, etc.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Deadline is Monday May 16th
REGISTRATION SIGN-UP: You may register on-line from home or on sign-up sheets available in the Men’s locker room and Pro-Shop. If you do not have a partner, give your
